ELIGIBILITY: Students who
are lineal descendants of a Union Veteran of the Civil War. The scholarship
is given in August to an incoming Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in a college
or university who has satisfactory scholastic standing, of good moral character,
and a firm belief in our form of government.
AMOUNT:Up to and not to
exceed $500.00 to any student in any one school year. The amount and the
number of scholarships awarded annually varies as to the fluctuation of
interest accrued.
SELECTION:A committee
at the annual meeting of the National Organization selects recipients and
notifies them by the end of September.

Requests should be accompanied by a business size (No. 10) self-addressed stamped envelope. A response can not be given to a request without an enclosed self-addressed stamped envelope. Requests will be forwarded to the chairman of the committee. You will receive an application from the current chairman with contact information for any questions. Completed applications must be returned to the chairman of the committee by the April 30 deadline to be considered for scholarships for the current year.
