Greetings to all the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War from your 2009-2010 National President, Betty Ann Howard Turner. Many of you know, many do not; I am a member of our organizing tent, Mrs. Major McKinley, Massillon, Ohio. We have been in existence since May 30, 1885.

My project for the coming year is to raise money via sales at convention and direct monetary contributions from individuals, tents, and departments for the purpose of furnishing the parlor/sitting room at our new home in Springfield, Illinois. Please read G.O. #1 for details.

We need to entice more members and give the members we have some position of importance in our tents and departments. Constitutions, bylaws, and rosters should be on hand for education of our procedures.

Reports of each office are required at specified times of the year.

Keep up the great work you are now doing and we shall become a better organization. Treat each other with respect and kindness.
