The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865 were deeply saddened by the loss of National President Beverly Massey on March 28, 2008.
As stated in our Bylaws, a vacancy in the office of National President shall be filled by the next officer in rank, which would be the National Senior Vice President. I was serving in that office and assumed the duties of the National President upon the passing of Sister Beverly. During this time of transition, I appreciate the gestures of unity and support from many members.

Our 118th National Convention will be held at the Adam's Mark Hotel, Indianapolis, Indiana, August 6-10, 2008. This time together allows us the opportunity to be of one heart, united in fraternity, charity, and loyalty. Throughout the convention, I hope to visit with many. There will be more information forthcoming concerning my project, if elected to the office of National President.
