The State of Missouri is allowing the use of State
Highway 136 as the funeral parade route of Corporal John P. Bynre.
The City of Memphis is allowing the use of Market street also. Therefore
the funeral parade will begin at Payne Funeral Home, travel south on Market
Street and then east on Highway 136 to the Memphis City Cemetery.
There will be MO. State Highway Troopers posted at each end of the Highway
136 leg of the journey. Should there be a large number of entries
in the funeral parade, then both lanes of Highway 136 will be shut down
with traffic either waiting or being detoured. They will be working
closely with the event coordinators and will make that decision when time
demands it.
Parade line up will be the 5th MO. Cavalry with Color
Guard, Hearse with pallbearers and guards marching beside it, rider-less
horse, 21st MO. Inf.; possibly the 27th VR. Inf., 2nd MO. Cav., and 51st
MO. Inf.; other MO. Units and other State’s Units. This will be interspersed
with horse driven conveyances transporting family and dignitaries.
The modern military, patriotic, youth organizations and others in uniform
with their colors who choose to be a part of the parade will follow.
We are asking that the homes and businesses along
the parade route be acceptable to the public parking and curb side viewing.
If you have areas that you do not want parking, then please mark them.
CITIZENS: Proper flag etiquette to show your
allegiance and respect is as follows: The salute to the flag in a
moving column should be rendered at the moment the flag passes. To salute,
all persons come to attention (stand). Those in uniform give the appropriate
formal salute. Citizens not in uniform salute by placing their right hand
over the heart and men with head cover should remove it and hold it to
left shoulder, hand over the heart. Members of organizations in formation
salute upon command of the person in charge.
Please help the young ones learn from your example.

etiquette please visit the following web sites. http://suvcw.org/flag.htm

NOTE: The parade route is 1.5 miles from the
Payne Funeral Chapel to the Memphis City Cemetery. For Allied Orders
or others wanting to walk only part of the way, they can join in at either
motel. The Oak Ridge Motel is at the corner of Market St. and 136
and is 1 mile from the cemetery. The Sunrise Motel is on the north
side of 136 and is 1/2 mile from the cemetery.
